PAC and Partners Host 1st Annual FAMA/FEMSA Home Days

      Performance Advantage Company recently partnered with SoundOff Signal, Amdor and Ward Fire Apparatus to host FAMA/FEMSA Home Days. The Fire Apparatus Manufacturers’ Association (FAMA) and the Fire and Emergency Manufacturers and Services Association (FEMSA) enourages it’s members to build awareness and be a source of information to local and national lawmakers.

Home Days is an opportunity for all first responders and their supporters to gather together with community leaders and politicians to openly communicate about the challenges that first responders face.

In attendance  speaking were Congressman Nick Langworthy, NY State Assemblywoman Monica Wallace, Village of Lancaster Mayor Lynne Ruda, NY State Senator Patrick Gallivan, Quinn Bushen, Buffalo Regional Representative, Executive Chamber – Governor’s office and Chris McLoone, Editor of Fire Apparatus & Emergency Equipment. Other attendees included many local fire departments, representatives from other municipalities, law enforcement and local political offices.

FAMA is a non-profit trade association. Members of FAMA are committed to enhancing the quality of the fire apparatus industry and emergency service community through the manufacture and sale of safe, efficient fire apparatus and equipment. Members of FEMSA provide firefighters with high quality equipment that is both safe and functional.

As of November, 2020, our Vertical Slide-Out Toolboards will be getting an innovative heavy-duty upgrade.

P.A.C. has developed a new standard for heavy-duty slide-out toolboards. Our new tandem slide system delivers heavy-duty
performance and low cost without sacrificing quality. 

We doubled-up the slides at the base in a unique weight-distributing design that gives powerful stability and control for heavy loads. 

Form:
The new slide base is made from heavy-duty aluminum.

Fit:
While all other dimensions will remain the same, the base footprint will be 1-1/4” wider, increasing from 3-5/8” to 4-7/8” wide.

Function:
The new design will perform the same functions, but with improved capacity, tracking and stability.

Note: The original version will continue to be available for the next year as we make a full transition. For details, visit us online or contact a P.A.C. Representative.

What is Improved
• The mounting height dimension will change from 3-1/2″ tall to 2-5/8″.
• The mounting width dimension will change from 2″ wide to 2-5/8″.
• There will be a total of four (4) mounting holes.
• The base mounting holes can accommodate #10-24 as well as 1/4″ dia. screws.

• The clamp end base module has been reworked to allow a more gradual approach to higher
profile objects.
• The bolt-on clamp top has been reworked to provide a convenient port for the strap slack to
slip through, while maintaining the effective clamping surface.

Also, beginning in May, 2020, Adjustamounts will be offered with Short, Standard or Long sections of anodized aluminum struts – and the struts will be available in two different profile heights:

Regarding Coronavirus and the impact to PAC:

To All PAC Dealers, Distributors and Customers ‐

Thank you for your support of PAC products! Our staff is here to support first responders and our partner during these difficult times.

PAC is rooted in the U.S. fire industry, but our users span several additional industries in over 30 countries. We have several new products and new catalogs for the fire industry as well as the other markets. PAC is very excited for the future!

To date in 2021, our domestic suppliers have become affected by two main challenges: labor and material shortages. This is affecting PAC & all industries across the nation. PAC continues to monitor lead times and quality of our finished products, as well as timely production schedules.

We see continued strong demand ahead – the need for new trucks isn’t going away! We anticipate a strong finish to 2021 and we continue to increase stock for these upcoming orders. If you or your customers have concerns on availability, please call us. As of this writing, few product shortages exist!

As a result of these challenges, all manufacturers are facing elevated costs. Entering the fourth quarter, PAC is projecting some targeted price increases in 2022. More information to come.

As the trade show schedule continues to open up, we’re looking forward to seeing all our customers as accessibility continues to develop.

Product Update

We have some good news! Our popular Handlelok (P/N 1004), is being improved as of June, 2018. The new, revised model looks nearly identical, however, it comes with a round and slotted mounting hole, rather than two (2) round mounting holes, giving it the ability to be mounted on multiple media and multiple orientations.

Form
The new bracket’s chemical and physical properties are identical.

Fit
The common-sized grip range remains identical (1/8”-1.75” dia.).
The minimum distance between holes (1.875”) remains identical.

Function
The weight/ load rating is identical (10# load at 9g force).
The bracket is designed to perform the same functions – but, with improved mounting versatility
via. a slotted mounting hole.

version (shown above) will no longer be available as of August, 2019. The new, revised
